Usher was born on October 14, 1978, in Dallas Texas to Jonetta Patton and Usher Raymond III. His father left him and his family when he was just one year old. His mother raised him in Chattanooga Tennessee and then his stepfather took his responsibility.

Usher’s mother let him join the nearby church choir seeing his interest in singing. Her grandmother also discovered the amazing ability to sing in Usher and convince his family to move to Atlanta for basic learning and more opportunities. So finally they moved to Atlanta for a conducive environment for beginners in singing.

In Atlanta Usher went to North Springs High School for higher studies.

Personal life

Usher had been in different relationships and dated several models. He started dating Chilli Thomas A TLC member in 2001 and for almost two years they were in a relationship.

In 2003, Usher planned to release an album confessions that contained some songs related to his personal life. It also contained the experiences of his collaborators including Jermaine Dupri who went through many ups and downs related to pregnancy and infidelity. This was misunderstood by his fans who believe that these experiences and challenges were faced by Usher and this resulted in their group’s break up.

Asher started his career at the age of 10 when he joined R&B quintet called NuBeginnings and recorded 10 songs with them.
