Michael ray Stevenson is popularly known as Tyga his stage name is an American singer, songwriter, actor, rapper and television personality. He was a solo artist initially and released several songs but then in 2008, he signed a contract with Young Money Entertainment, Republic Records, and  Cash Money Records.

His most exclusive and topmost single hits include Rack City, Faded, Far Away, And Make It Nasty featuring the most famous celebrities like Chris Richardson, Lil Wayne, And Drake.

In 2011 he released his major-label debut called Careless World: Rise Of The Last King.

Early life

Tyga was born on November 19, 1989, in a socio-economic area of Compton, California and then moved to adjacent Gardena. He attained his pet name from his mother who used to call him Tiger Woods. He is of Jamaican and Vietnamese descent because his mother was, in fact, a Vietnamese.

Stevenson was fond of listening to music since childhood. He used to listen, Lil Wayne, Fabolous Cam’ron, and Eminem. He was born in a low area of Compton but in one of the leaked footage from Bustas (the television show) but he claimed that he belongs to a rich well off family where his parents used to drive a range rover.

Personal life

In the F.A.M.E tour after-party with Chris Brown that was held at The King Of Diamonds in Miami, he met Blac Chyna. She became the leading lady in Tyga’s music video Rack City. The couple announced their engagement in 2011 and gave birth to their son King Cairo Stevenson in 2012. Tyga purchased a $6.5 million mansion in Calabasas for his new family. They both tattooed their son’s name but unfortunately, the couple separated in 2014.

Tyga also had a relationship with Kylie Jenner which became the most highlighted and controversial news of that period because of their age difference. Jenner was just sixteen during their dating period which was legally not allowed. However, the couple got separated shortly in 2017.

Tyga was robbed by unknown assailants. The robbery was of his jewelry and a pair of diamond chains was stolen by a local rapper 40 glocc.

Stevenson was sued multiple times by two women who were the part of his video make it nasty for 10 million dollars for the invasion of privacy, sexual battery, fraud and infliction of emotional distress. Tyga was also sued by a jeweler residing in Beverly Hills’ for not paying him $185000.

Besides this, he was also ordered to pay 80,000 dollars as a settlement to a former landlord who rented Tyga a home in Calabasas.


Tyga career started with multiple demo tapes and mixtapes. The talent of this young artist garnered when he released young on probation. His cousin Travie McCoy offered him to join hands with Independent Label Dcd2 Records (Decaydance Records). He also signed GED Inc. during that period.

In 2008 his first independent album no introduction was released under decaydance records. One of the songs from this album diamond life was used in Madden NFL 2009 and Need For Speed: Undercover (a video game).
