Early life
Keenon Daequan Ray Jackson, now known more commonly as YG was born in Compton and raised by a single mother as his father was involved in illegal activities which often led to jail time.
YG grew up in Compton and joined a gang called Bloods. Unfortunately, this decision proved to be wrong for him as he got into several illegal activities like his father, all of which ultimately landed him in jail as well.
The gang Bloods are strong rivals of another gang located in Compton called the Crips. Interestingly, all of those who are in Bloods, don’t use the word ‘C’, something which is evident in the names of his songs and his albums.
