Paul Donald Wight II popularly known by his ring name Big Show is an American professional wrestler and actor. He is currently working with WWE. He started his career with WCW World Championship Wrestling where he was introduced as The Son Of André The Giant. Later then he played under the name The Giant in ring of WCW.

Big show achieved tremendous success in the wrestling world. He was honored with seven-time World Champion Title, two times WCW World Heavyweight Championship Title, Ecw World Heavyweight Championship Title and two times WWF and WWE Championship Title.

Early life

Wight was born on February 8, 1972, in South Carolina. His father’s name was Paul Donald Wight. He was a huge-sized kid in his childhood and suffered many problems due to his giant built. He had a disease called acromegaly in which a high level of hormone growth takes place. He also went through surgery to stop the augmentation of this unusual disease.

He went to Wyman King Academy In South Carolina and joined a basketball and football club there. He was fond of sports since his childhood and was one of the best players of basketball and football players. Although, he couldn’t continue playing these games in the academy. For higher education, he went to Oklahoma Junior College and started playing basketball again.

For getting his degree in bachelors he attended Wichita State University, Kansas and then southern Illinois University Edwardsville and continued playing basketball.

Personal life

Big Show married to Mellisa Ann Piavis in 1997 and they also had a daughter. Unfortunately, the couple got separated in 2000. In 2002, wight married to his second wife Bess Katramados and they had two children.


Wight signed a contract with WCW World Champion Wrestling in 1995. He was one of the best wrestlers who is known by his ring name THE GIANT because of his huge size and body built. In his first fight, he defeated Hulk Hogan and won WCW World Heavyweight Championship Title.

However, his title was taken back due to severe allegations and the controversial ending of the fight. Wight joined New World Order but due to his conflict with Hogan, he was suspended out from the nWo. Later he won Tag Team Championships against nWo. He was defeated by nash in 1998 and opposed him in the New World Order.

After this wight signed a ten-year contract with WWF and WWE where he was heavily defeated by Undertaker and won WWF championship title. They both joined hands together and won the WWF tag team championship. In 2004 he defeated Eddie and won united states championship. He also teamed up with Kane and together they did a tremendous job in the ring. He did fight with many famous wrestlers including John cena, randy orten, and many others.
