Early life
Keith was born July 8, 1961, in Clinton Oklahoma to Hubert K. Covel Jr. and Carolyn Joan. He has two siblings including a sister and a brother. They used to live in fort smith Arkansas and later moved to Moore, Oklahoma while he was studying in grade school. he often visits his grandmother’s house in Fort Smith when she owned a Billie Garner’s Supper Club in Fort Smith. This was a place where he recognized his talent. He went to Highland West Junior High School and then attended Moore High School.
His interest in music encouraged him to get and playing his first guitar when he was just 8 years old. At a very small age, he used to do various odd jobs around his grandmother’s club to play with the band.
When he was 20 years old, he and his friends Keith Corry, Danny Smith, David Vowel, and Scott Webb formed a new band called the easy money band. Under this band, he used to perform at local bars. During that time he also worked at an oil industry to earn his living.
Personal life
Keith decided to be a petroleum engineer after receiving his honorary degree from Villanova University. he was also fond of games and sports including football and wrestling and therefore often seen at the Oklahoma Sooners.
Keith married Tricia Lucus in 1984. The couple is blessed with three children Shelly Cowel Rowland, Krystal Keith, and Stelen Keith Covel.
