Early Life
Sting was born in England in 1951. He is the eldest among his siblings. In his teen, he used to help his father in delivering milk. Sting attended St Cuthbert’s Grammar school. He used to work as a bus conductor, a laborer, and a tax officer. He also taught as a teacher at St Paul’s First School in Cramlington.
During his professional life, Sting used to perform jazz on weekends and on evenings. He was greatly influenced by Cream and Manfred Mann.

In 1977, Sting moved to London where he joined Copeland and Padovani. Together they made their band, the Police. For the next few years, they became world-famous. At that time, they won six Grammy Awards and had five UK’s best albums. In 1978, he worked together with members of Gong and Hawkwind.
Then in 1985, Sting released his first solo album. The name of the album was ‘The Dream of the Blue Turtles.’ He also performed with Dire Straits and sang a couple of duets with Phil Collins. In 1987, Sting launched his second album called ‘Nothing Like the Sun.’ The album got huge success and won Best British Album award in 1988. The album also received three Grammy nominations.
In 1991, he launched ‘The Soul Cages’ album, which he dedicated to his late father. The album went platinum. Sting also won Golden Globe Award in 2002.
