Harvey Weinstein was born on March 19, 1952, in New York United States of America. His father Max Weinstein was a diamond cutter. His mother’s name is Miriam Weinstein. He belongs to a Jewish family. Weinstein grew up in a housing co-op called Electchester in New York with his brother, Bob. Bob is his only brother, with whom he co-founded his film-producing company Miramax.

Weinstein started his career with brother Bob. They co-founded a company named Miramax, after the name of their parents Miriam and max in the 70s. He is a passionate film producer and earned a great profit by releasing the music-oriented concert films, Paul Mc Cartney and Rockshow.
In the beginning, Miramax Film Company purchased the rights to dispense small independent films and edited the two movies and tailored it into one movie.
