George Lucas was born on May 14, 1991, in Modesto, California to Dorothy Ellnore Lucas and George Walton Lucas Sr.  He is the combination of various decent including German, Swiss- German, English, Scottish, French and Distant Dutch.

He and his family were among those families who attended Disneyland in its opening days. Lucas as a child was fond of science fiction, comics and also loved watching flash Gordon serials. Before starting his career in film making he used to be a race car driver. He was passionate about race driving and spent most of his school days driving and racing on the underground circuits and hanging out with friends at garages.

Due to this he also got badly injured and bruised in an accident during a race where his car was flipped multiple times. This was the reason to quit car racing and he started to find his passion and interest in other fields.

At the age of eighteen, Lucas’s father wanted him to work at his stationery shop but he wanted to go to art school. He left his home to pursue his career with a promise that he would be a millionaire after twelve years.

He went to Modesto Junior College and studied anthropology, literature, and sociology among other subjects. During the same period, he also started filming the racing cars with an 8mm camera and used to watch the screening of 16 mm filmmakers including Stan Brakhage, Jordan Belson, and Bruce Conner. He became a good friend of Steven Spielberg and influenced by Lester Novros’s film expression course.

Personal life

Lucas married famous film editor Marcia Lou Griffin in 1969. She is the one who is editing the original star war films and going to win an academy award for it.

They adopted a daughter in 1981 named Amanda Lucas. Unfortunately, the couple divorced in 1983. Lucas has been in a relationship with singer Linda Ronstadt.

He also adopted two more children daughter Katie Lucas and son Jett Lucas as a single parent. His all three elder children appeared in the Star Wars Sequels.

Career

He wanted to be a pilot at the airforce and also wanted to join the army for military services before making films. But due to diabetes he joined USC and graduated in the film production where he got a scholarship to perform in any movie of Warner Bros and later he founded his company Lucas film from where he created American graffiti in 1973. The film received worldwide appraise and became commercially successful.

In 1977, he released his next project the Epic Space Opera Star Wars which became the highest-grossing film, which won six Academy Awards. After that, he produced the sequels of Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi.

With the collaboration of Steven Spielberg he co-wrote and produced The Last Crusade, The Temple Of The Doom, and The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull.

Currently, he is a successful executive producer of his own film company Indiana jones.
