Early life
Doyle Brunson was born on August 10, 1933, In Longworth Texas. He is one of the three siblings. Doyle was interested in sports and wanted to play basketball, he won Texas Interscholastic Track Meet.
He went to Hardin-Simmons University in Texas. His dedication got the attention of Minneapolis Lakers of the NBA but due to injury Doyle failed to continue his career. Still, he needs a crutch to move due to that serious injury. In 1954 he got the bachelor’s degree and the following year got the degree of Masters In Administrative Education.
Brunson was playing poker casually before his knee injury, but after the injury, he took playing poker as his career and business and played it more seriously. The expenses of his treatment were paid by the amount earned by playing poker.
He also started working as a machines salesman, where he was invited to play a seven-card stud game. He won that game and the amount he earned was more than his monthly salary. After that game, he realized that he should continue playing poker as a professional player.

Personal life
Doyle married to Louise in 1962. During Louise’s first pregnancy, they observed a tumor in Doyle’s neck. This tumor was cancerous and need surgery to remove that will help in life prolongation to see the birth of his baby. His wife and friends made many prayers for his wealth and in return of these prayers, the surgery went successful and there was no trace of cancer there.
The couple welcomed the baby girl Doyla. Unfortunately, Doyla died at the age of 18 due to heart valve complications. They also had a son named Todd, who has followed his father’s footsteps and became a professional poker player.
They won Maha Hi-Lo bracelet in the World Series of Poker which is the victory of father-son combined effort. His daughter Pamela also played World Series of Poker and outlasted father and brother.

Doyle joined many illegal games of poker by organized crime. He and his friend suffered great loss and lost almost everything. He continued playing solo games then and appeared in almost every WSOP Championships.
