Early life
Kroeger was born on November 15 in 1974 in Hanna, Alberta, Canada. His childhood was miserable as his father left him and his family when he was just two years old. This hatred towards his father did too much damage to him and therefore he took his mother maiden name Kroeger as his last name.
He has a brother named mike, who was a professional bassist in Nickelback. He was very fond of music since childhood. He started playing guitarist during his teenage.
Personal life
Kroeger and the famous fellow Canadian singer, Avril Lavigne started dating each other in 2012 when they were working together for Lavigne fifth album. They also got engaged in the same year and right after one year in 2013, the couple married in France. But unfortunately their marriage doesn’t last long and the couple got divorced just after two years of their marriage in 2014.

In 1990, Chad Kroeger along with his cousin Brandon Kroeger, Brother Mike Kroeger and singer Ryan Peake started a cover band The Village Idiots. This band didn’t get much fame and fortune and received very little success. This team of the village idiots then comes up with a brand new band, Nickelback in 1995 and for more than two decades Kroeger was the partner of Nickelback.
In 2002 Chad Kroeger founded another band name Suits XL with Yohann, Patrick, Roy, Antoine, and Sam. In 2003, Kroeger co-founded another band 604 Records which is Vancouver British Columbia based. 604 Records and Suits XL collaborated and released an album in 2006.
