Early life
Joshua was born on October 15, 1989, in Watford, Hertfordshire, England to Yeta and Robert Joshua. His parents are of Nigerian ancestry and belong to Yoruba people. His parents got separated when he was just 12.
He spent his early years in Nigeria at Mayflower Boarding School in Kenne. After his parent’s separation, he went to Kings Langley Secondary School. Joshua stared his career as a boxer when he was just eighteen in 2007. He also founded a club named Finchley Barnet in North London where many of the professional heavyweight champions used to get trained.
In 2009 and 2010, he won the Haringey box cup. He also won senior ABA Senior Championship in his 18h bout but turned down the £50,000, because he wanted himself to turn into a professional boxer.
